Ordered before 5 p.m., delivered tomorrow (except for Sundays and public holidays) Matka silk is a slightly more coarse weave than most silk. Due to this, the silk is a little less supple, but far from as sturdy as hemp. The silk has a subtle glimmer to it, which deepens the play of shadow and light in the folds. This makes the Matka silk shroud a luxurious, yet natural shroud.
In the often hectic days of processing and mourning, intimate moments are very valuable. A shroud can be folded alone or by a small group of relatives, which is a memorable ritual. The extent to which the shroud is open or closed can be decided by yourself. It is also possible to close the shroud a little further every day, extending the process of final closure. In order to use a shroud for a cremation or burial, a carrier is required. We offer several different carriers that go perfectly with the Matka silk shroud, such as the Willow carrier and the Willow shell.

Shroud folding instructions
Yes, it is possible to use a shroud for a cremation, as long as it is combined with a carrier. Some crematoriums require a carrier to have a flat bottom plate and an upright edge. In such cases, a cremation input board must be used. Always discuss the situation with the crematorium to prevent misunderstandings.
Cremation input board
A shroud can be stored for years as long as it is kept in a dark room. The best thing to do is to remove the plastic (if there is any), and place it in a cotton cover. We would also advice you to take it out of storage once a year for some air.
