Ordered before 5 p.m., delivered tomorrow (except for Sundays and public holidays) The curved carrier is made of beech multiplex with eco friendly glue. The curved shape has an open, sober appearance. The wood is light in color, which makes the carrier accentuate the color of a shroud. Because of the curved shape, two small wooden slats are attached to the bottom to prevent it from toppling.
Both sides of the Curved carrier have three cutouts with which the carrier can be carried by a maximum of six people. For extra security, shroud and body can be tied to the carrier with a shroud strap.
The Curved carrier is a design by Lux Compagnie, and is produced here as well. Joost Romeyn, the owner, told us that the idea for this carrier came to him eight years ago. He had been inspired by the viking ship, and created this new shape.
Some crematoriums require a carrier to have a flat bottom plate and an upright edge. In such cases, a cremation input board must be used. Always discuss the situation with the crematorium to prevent misunderstandings.
Our ecru colored pillow can be used as a soft headrest. The small pillow is rectangular, to fit onto the carrier or inside the shroud. It is made of biological cotton and straw.

In the Netherlands cremation without a coffin is legally allowed. The only requirement is that a shroud and a carrier are used. There might, however, be crematoriums that have less experience in such cremations, so always be sure to discuss this with your funeral director.
