Coarsely woven linen

The Linen shroud’s Coarsely woven linen is made of supple, sand colored linen. The linen is undyed, making it off-white with a light glimmer. The fabric’s suppleness makes it possible to drape the shroud in lively folds. Undraped, the Linen shroud has a serene look.

Folding the Linen shroud

Shrouding a loved one is a ritual that is often cherished. The extent to which the shroud is open or closed can be decided by yourself, and the tempo. It is also possible to close the shroud a little further every day, extending the process of final closure. Have a look at our shroud folding instructions.

The carrier

In order to use a shroud for a cremation or burial, a carrier is required. We offer various carriers that go perfectly with the Linen shroud, such as the Curved carrier or the Tulip carrier

Questions

What is the best way to fold a shroud?

There are two different ways to fold our shrouds. The instructions are always delivered along with the shroud. You can find the instructions on the page below:

Can a shroud be used for a cremation?

Yes, it is possible to use a shroud for a cremation, as long as it is combined with a carrier. Some crematoriums require a carrier to have a flat bottom plate and an upright edge. In such cases, a cremation input board must be used. Always discuss the situation with the crematorium to prevent misunderstandings.

Can the shroud be fastened to the carrier?

With the use of one of our shroud straps, the body and shroud can be tied to the carrier. It is also possible to use it to make sure the shroud is firmly shut around the body.
