The linen is ecologically produced, which means that the shroud is well-suited for a natural funeral. The buttons are made of nacre, a naturally biodegradable material. This makes the shroud ideal for a natural burial.
The gown can be used as an undergarment beneath the shroud. The gown is available in two sizes: M (for individuals of average build) and XL (for individuals of larger build). It can be worn by both women and men. The funeral gown is ankle-length and does not have pockets. It has a closure at the back, making it easy to put on.
Our Linen shroud is inspired by the traditional Dutch burial gown. In various regions, it was a tradition for the bride to sew a shroud for herself and her future husband before their upcoming wedding. They would then wear these gowns on their wedding day and night. After this night, the gown was no longer worn, until it served as a burial gown.

When using a burial shroud, it is not mandatory to wear undergarments. However, of course, undergarments can always be worn, such as our Linen shroud.
When the burial shroud is folded as per the instructions, this cannot happen. The shroud is completely draped over the deceased. In windy conditions, you can secure the shroud with one of our straps, or the supplied safety pin.
