Flannel, roughened on both sides

The flannel of this Soft Shroud is made from unbleached organic cotton. This cotton is roughened on both sides, which makes the fabric feel particularly soft and thick. By leaving the flannel unbleached, the characteristic warm ecru cotton colour is retained. The fabric falls smoothly and is therefore easy to fold and drape.

Those involved can decide for themselves to what extent the shroud is open or closed, and the shroud can be folded further and further over time.

Organic flannel

The cotton we use for our Soft Shrouds is 100% organic. The cotton is processed into flannel in Izmir, Turkey. The cotton from this area is one of the most beautiful types there is. This can be seen and felt in the fabric. In addition, cotton from Turkey is sustainable, as it is located in Europe and water use is highly efficient.

There are two ways the shroud can be folded. The folding instructions are always included.

Can a shroud be used for cremation?

Yes, it is possible to use a shroud, in combination with a carrier, for cremation. Some crematoria require the use of a Cremation input board when the carrier doesn't have a flat bottom plate. Always contact the crematorium or the funeral director you are working with, to be sure what the requirements are.
