Greenleave
GreenLeave: A green funeral
Funeral companies that have joined the GreenLeave Foundation demonstrate that they are a sustainable, green company. This means that they can design a funeral as sustainably as possible. This is certainly not self-evident. Fortunately, there are entrepreneurs who want to change this. Companies that have been approved by the foundation offer sustainable products in addition to sustainable services. This makes it much easier for you to make a completely sustainable choice. The funeral directors that are affiliated with the foundation focus on five core principles in their business operations: good employers, sustainable business operations, sustainable purchasing, honest business and social involvement. We fully support this. When working towards a final farewell, we believe it is very important to treat the earth and the people who live on it well.
The GreenLeave approved label
GreenLeave has drawn up a number of strict sustainability criteria together with the Natuur & Milieu foundation. These criteria are regularly revised to remain up to date. Producers and suppliers of funeral products can submit their products to GreenLeave for testing. If a product meets the criteria, the 'GreenLeave approved label' may be used for it. The material used, its origin and the production process are examined. GreenLeave must be informed of each change to this process and must grant explicit permission to keep using the label. This allows customers to immediately see which products have been produced with care for sustainability.
