We recently entered into a partnership with Natural burial site Hillig Meer. This is no surprise, given that they fully share our vision on natural burial and sustainability.
Natural Burial Ground Hillig Meer
The most beautiful place for a natural funeral is in the middle of nature, which is possible at one of the natural burial grounds in the Netherlands. A more suitable place than Hillig Meer is almost unthinkable. One of their most important objectives is the preservation of flora and fauna for future generations. They stand for harmony between man and nature, which means that the environment must be burdened as little as possible. The proceeds from the cemetery are invested in nature and forest management. This way, everyone who reserves a grave there contributes to the preservation of nature for future generations.
Our natural products
Our shrouds are all made of natural materials and produced as sustainably as possible. Natural Burial Ground Hillig Meer is happy to show that they stand behind our products: one of our shrouds is on display. This is currently the Soft Shroud, made of GOTS-certified soft flannel. The GOTS certificate is a global textile standard that indicates that the textile is 100% organically produced. Our Willow shell, made of naturally cultivated Dutch willow branches, can also be admired at Hillig Meer. Both the Soft Shroud and the Bowl of Willow Branches fit in nicely with the philosophy of natural burial ground Hillig Meer.
A personal approach
At Hillig Meer, a funeral can be designed as you wish, as long as nature and the deceased are treated with respect. The use of a shroud and stretcher fits in nicely with this philosophy, allowing you to use materials that really honor the deceased. It's also possible to shroud the body yourself; a beautiful start to the mourning process, in which relatives can be close to the deceased. In a shroud, the body is still closeby, which makes a farewell more personal.
Eternal resting place
At natural burial ground Hillig Meer, each grave has eternal burial right. Here, a loved one, shrouded in a beautiful fabric, can quietly become one with nature.
