The design of the Tulip carrier
The design of the Tulip carrier is based on a beautiful story.
The design of the Tulip carrier
The Tulip carrier was designed by Monique Rang, the founder of Wikkelgoed. She developed this idea together with her son Robbe, now the owner. The design of the Tulip originated from the need to create a shape that did not yet exist. A carrier with six corners, the shape of the classic coffin, did not yet exist. By using this shape for a carrier, a beautiful open version of the coffin is created. The slanted edges give the Tulip carrier an extra elegant character.
'Tulipan'
The tulip carries many stories with it. Nowadays, the tulip quickly makes you think of Holland, but originally the tulip comes from Turkey. Sultans often wore the flower on their turban. This is how the name 'Tulipan' came about, which was later corrupted to the name tulip.
Forgiveness
The different colours of tulips have their own symbolic value. For example, the white tulip is a symbol of forgiveness. This is a fitting meaning for the serene, immaculate white of the flower.
Love
As many know, the color red is strongly associated with love. The red tulip is therefore a symbol of true love. Giving a red tulip is a sign of affection. The red color also carries an association with blood, kinship.
Nobility
The purple tulip is reminiscent of purple blood, noble descent. A beautiful symbol of royal dignity. Purple tulips are also associated with peace and spirituality.
Poplar wood
The poplar wood of this burial board has a particularly soft texture. The wood is light in colour, which fits in nicely with the different meanings of the tulip. This means that, with a Coloured shroud, a choice can be made for one of the symbolisms above. Of course, the precise interpretation of symbolisms can also be left open.
