Linen
The fabrics that are made in this weaving mill are made entirely of linen, no other fabrics are added. This makes the pure linen very soft and gives it a light glimer.
Linen production
Linen is made from the fibres of the flax plant. When harvesting this flax, it is not mowed; the plants are taken out of the ground in their entirety. This allows the long fibres of the crop to be used optimally. After harvesting, the stalks are dried. When the stalks are dry, the seeds are expertly removed, after which the flax is spread out over a field. Here, the plants remain in the sun and rain for a number of weeks, which causes the fibres to loosen. These fibres are then separated from the straw. After this, the yarn is spun from the longest fibres. When the final textile is woven from this yarn, there must be an equal tension on the fabric during weaving. In this way, the threads remain the same in relation to each other, so that the fabric becomes even. This is an intensive way of weaving that ensures the most beautiful, softest result.
The linen Funeral gown
Our linen Funeral gown is made of textiles from this weaving mill. This simple linen shirt can be used during a funeral instead of your own clothing. At the neck, the shirt opens up like a flower. The shirt has a pleat in the middle front that is fastened on the chest with four mother-of-pearl buttons.
Colored linen shroud
Our Coloured linen shroud is also made of soft linen. This is a coloured shroud made of supple, coarsely woven linen. The flexibility of the linen ensures that the fabric can be draped in lively folds. Unfolded, this shroud has a serene, light appearance.
