Wikkelgoed makes wading from denim

Wikkelgoed has made a denim shroud based on a special request. An old man came to us who had worn denim every day his entire life. He wondered if it was possible to have a shroud made from his beloved fabric in honor of his clothing tradition. We immediately got to work for him, after which we were so pleased with the result that we included the shroud in our permanent range.

Wade of denim fabric

The sturdy dark blue denim wade has a tough, special look. The wade is much lighter colored on the inside than on the outside, which gives a nice effect when it is opened. The characteristic fabric also gives a nice emphasis to the folds in the wade. The light and dark blue color match nicely with the rustic Takkenbaar and our Wide hemp band closure , this together gives a beautiful solid impression. If you want to read more about this wade, you can do so on this page: Denim wade.

A shroud instead of a coffin

A shroud can be used in combination with a coffin, but in combination with a stretcher it can also completely replace the coffin. Applying a shroud is a simple act that can be easily performed by the relatives. This act is often experienced as a special farewell ritual. A select group of loved ones covers the deceased, blow by blow. In this way, both the deceased and the relatives are prepared for the farewell. If the shroud is used instead of a coffin, a stretcher (for example made of willow twigs: the Takkenbaar) is necessary. Often, a sliding board is also required at crematoria, because a flat bottom is required. You can buy this sliding board in our webshop.
